Hey!
I'm Sam Barnes
I've got a feeling parts of my story might be similar to yours...

Growing up, I felt "different".

I was born in 1999 and raised in a small town in Leicestershire, UK.
This feeling of being different was always there a bit... but it really started to take off when I was around 8 years old.
Not only was I super shy and unconfident, I didn't really have an interest in anything particularly "girly". I played football, my friends at school were mostly boys, and my wardrobe was all boys clothes.

When I started high school in 2011, my mental health really took a turn for the worse. I faced a lot of bullying and, to try and stop this, I pretended to be someone I wasn't. Making myself appear female at school to try and blend in. But it was eating me alive, and it only seemed to be making the bullying worse. Even my love of football was dwindling. I just wanted to hide in my room where I felt safe. After I built up a supportive relationship with a teacher at school who did everything she could to help me, I was diagnosed with Autism. But still something just didn't feel right...

I picked up a copy of Mens Fitness Magazine when I went shopping with my mum (you know those moments where you wander off because you're bored), and it lead to me becoming obsessed with bodybuilding. I also plucked up the courage to come out as Gay, got myself a girlfriend, before realising being someone else's girlfriend made me feel uncomfortable. So I kept searching and, eventually, realised I was Trans. It was like a lightbulb switched on and everything just... made sense.

Even though I was on the right path to self discovery, the overwhelm of it all meant my mental health was still getting worse, to the point where I dropped out of mainstream education and home tutored myself through my GCSEs. But the only thing I was truly invested in at the time was the gym. I passed my GCSEs and went straight on to a Personal Trainer course in 2016. This was also the year I began documenting my transition on YouTube.

By 2018 I was one year on testosterone and managed to land my first job in a gym only a couple of months after having top surgery.
I was a gym instructor, which meant I was king of reception and toilet cleaning. Alongside of this I also "launched" my online coaching business. I say "launched" because that makes it sound far more professional than it was. I was just a kid with a laptop.

In 2020 I landed my first in-person, personal training clients and three months later the UK shutdown after the outbreak of the C virus.
I spent a combined total of a year sat at home geeking out on exercise mechanics and watching how some of the best PT's and online coaches ran their businesses.

When everything did open back up in 2021 I got to work putting my newfound knowledge to the test. This included helping one client lose 150lbs in a year and a half. I also started to build up a few online clients. The growth was super slow, but I just kept going...
And came to this realisation: People want a coach they can relate to.

The handful of online coaching clients I had were all Trans. And Jenny from accounts had no interest in working with me. So, my mission to work solely with Trans people began.

Flash forward to 2024 and I was making enough to call myself a "part-time online coach". But I needed to take things up a gear if I wanted to be taken seriously and go full-time. So, I took the plunge and ticked off my biggest goal: Get absolutely shredded.

I walked the walk and proved you can get a solid set of abs and some bicep veins even if you're Trans. Now?

I'm working with more people than ever before on their physique, health and fitness goals. Every client is Trans they're based all over the globe. I'm doing the job full time I could once only dream of.
