I’m embarrassed about what I’m going to tell you…


I’m a Level 3 Personal Trainer.


And I’m one of about 22,000 in the UK.


It’s the thing that allows you to get insurance, legally work the gym floor and basically f*ck all else.


It’s a p*ss poor excuse for a qualification. And one you won’t ever find written in my bio…


My ability to help you build muscle doesn’t rely on this bit of paper. It relies on the fact that I’ve continued education with…


The 50 minutes of Private Tutoring I have every fortnight with Michael Goulden of Integra. We cover all things anatomy and exercise.


It’s the reason I can help you grow your biceps. Instead of, “4 Sets of barbell bicep curls”, let’s look at finding exercises that line up perfectly with you.

A new level of empathy and understanding was unlocked during this experience.


The multiple courses I’ve done over the years with The Muscle Mentors, Pre-Script and Integra. No idea how much of an investment that will have come to but we’re clearly talking thousands.


I don’t expect you to give a sh*t about the fact I can draw funky lines on exercises and talk about forces (not exactly party level conversation). But you’ll give a sh*t when you can grow your chest without having to, “Just do barbell bench press, bro”.


The time I block off in my calendar every week for personal study sessions on anything from anatomy to psychology. A 50/50 split between textbook and gym floor because, and I cannot stress this enough, a textbook means fuck all when working with actual humans.


I grow my brain so you grow your muscles.


This continued study is what makes me a great coach. I have no trouble tooting my own trumpet on that because, personally, I’d only want to work with someone who backs themself.
