Why You Need To Stop Bulking

You’ve got a picture in your mind of the person you want to look like.
Broad shoulders, lats wider than a door frame and arms that stretch t-shirt sleeves.
They must have eaten a lot of food to look like that? Done a hell of a lot of bulking? So, that must be what you need to do, right?
Meh…
Here’s what people are too scared to tell you:
You’re not ready to bulk.
I know that because I did exactly what you’re thinking of doing.
I looked at my overhanging hips, my piss poor arms, and decided the fix was simple.
More food.
But I just got fatter. Less muscular. And started avoiding mirrors.
One of the hardest parts of building a decent physique is having to watch yourself get smaller when all you want is to be bigger.
But, if you bulk now, you’ll only end up bigger in all the wrong places and be stuck pretending it’s “part of the process”.
This is 39 weeks of work.

Four gym sessions a week, football on top of that, and by the end he was walking 20,000 steps a day.
Food wise?
He started out on 1,900 calories a day and, by the end, was on 1,500 a day.
He said no to pub trips, got very familiar with being “boring”, and probably wanted to strangle me a concerning number of times.
Worth it though.
Because now he’s lean, has abs and, more importantly, can finally bulk without just inflating his waistline.
You might scroll past this post without listening to me this time.
You might try to bulk anyway and learn the same lesson I did:
You’ll look worse for it.
But if you’re done wasting months on bulks that end with you holding 10kg of extra insulation, I can help.
